UusiTeatteri is a charming theatre venue in Vasastan, close to Odenplan in central Stockholm. With a maximum capacity of 80 people, it is well suited to performances, concerts, workshops, readings, talks, meetings and celebrations. The venue includes a foyer with a small kitchen and cloakroom, an auditorium, a technical booth and a cosy dressing room. A grand piano, lighting and sound equipment are also available. Founded in 2002, UusiTeatteri is a multilingual Sweden-Finnish theatre company creating performances for children and young people. The company presents work in Swedish, Finnish or a creative mix of both languages, both at its home venue and on tour across Sweden. UusiTeatteri specialises in original drama written specifically for young audiences, making many of its productions unique to the company’s repertoire. Through its Finnish-language programme, it aims to strengthen the language and identity of Swedish-Finnish children and young people while making high-quality theatre accessible to audiences of all ages.
