“When is it Physical? (Workshop / TIP)
When is it physical theatre? Throughout history and across cultural contexts, performative art has continuously evolved, morphed, and combined. Recently, new technologies have enhanced the stage with vibrant colors and special effects, but throughout time, we have always relied on the same human bodies, sweating and moving. Is there a definitive line where we transition into physical performing arts, as opposed to ”non-physical”-performative art? Let's find out.

This workshop is divided into two parts. Part one is an introduction to the Brosowski technique, the primary mime technique at Stockholm University of the Arts. The second part will be an exploration within a set framework, using our own premises, to answer the question: "When do we call it physical? When is it physical?" We will work with a small scene, starting from the point of "I’m absolutely not doing anything physical at all" and progressing to "the most extreme physical I've ever been."

Bring clothes suitable for movement and a water bottle. We will sweat.
