Shoes I Never Wore To Events I Never Attended is an exhibition by Camilla Hellberg Mushonga exploring opportunities that were disregarded by the human involved. Each pair of shoes have their own story of why they were never worn. The viewer is invited to follow the thread of thought behind each choice to not go. Would you have done the same or something different?

Camilla Hellberg Mushonga: I started decorating these shoes without any thought of exhibiting them, but then an idea came to me. They feel like shoes that would have been worn at some amazing events that someone missed out on. I was exploring the effects of shame and regret at the time in my performance art and these shows became a reminder of that which we were not part of even when we would have wanted to. So when I was invited to perform 11:44 at STOFF I included the exhibition Shoes I Never Wore To Events I Never Attended.
