CLOWNSEJD combines shamanistic techniques of travelling to other worlds with clown/mask techniques to explore new ways of seeking answers to existential questions and to provide comfort, joy and creative madness.
The performance is built around the questions put by the audience/questioners and is completely improvised.
Through humor and ceremonial singing and with the clown's naive outlook on the world, Rebecka Cardoso seeks to create a space for collective processing of grief, worry and longing.
CLOWNSEJD is created by Rebecka Cardoso, actor, director and playwright with over twenty years in professional theatre. Rebecka is also a mystic, with spiritual, ritual spaces as one of her biggest interests.
In CLOWNSEJD, she works with a Moderator/Anchor who can vary from performance to performance. During the Fringe, she works with Kalle Haglund, an actor, poet, and playwright, as the Anchor.
CLOWNSEJD was rewarded the "People's Choice Award" and was nominated in the category "Best innovation in performance" at Stockholm Fringe Festival 2024, and has been back by popular demand ever since!
